April 3, 2014 - 10:00 am
Attendance: Cutler Edwards, Paul Tchir, Jorge Leal, Maki Smith, Mary Klann, Jonathan Abreu, Teresa Walch, Nick Hirsch, Dave Henderson
We were able to secure extra funding: $500 from Dean’s Office of the Division of Arts and Humanities; and $576 from the Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Combined with the remaining funds in our Collective budget as well as our GSA DPC funds, we have enough now to cover a sizable honorarium ($500) and cover lunch and dinner for grad students on Thursday. We should have enough to set some money aside for a GSA-sponsored social at the end of the quarter.

Proposed a Town Hall Meeting on Week 4 to address the issues with MMW and departmental TAships
Questions have come up over whether the history department going to cover the difference for students who are applying for MMW for next year? Or are we encouraged to apply elsewhere?
transparency and availability
Deadline for applying is May 1
Nick suggested having an orientation for incoming students at the beginning of next year to fill them in on issues they have to deal with later on from the perspective of graduate students (ex. TAships outside of the department)
